The Titan Drowns by Nhys Glover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
What were the main themes of the book? Romance, history and dealing with loss. I must admit when I first read the description I wasn't excited. The Titanic theme has been used over and and over again to the point that nothing different can be written about it. Well, this author definitely proved me wrong. With well-researched facts, she creates a fiction piece that twists and turns the Titanic theme into a very exciting read.
Describe 2 different settings or locations. When Marco thinks about Petra. His reflection coupled with the description of what was happening around him was really well-written. Loved the flow of her words. My second favourite setting is when Karl was standing on the boat deck. He seems so lost in himself, you can't help but feel what he does.
Were you able to connect with the main character and why? It was a bit hard to connect with a single character because each person seemed to add so much to the story. If I had to pick one, I would go with Pia. She has to choose between moving on and falling in love. Not at all an easy decision.
Disclosure - I received a complimentary copy from the author which did not affect my honest opinion.
